14K Solid Gold Jewelry

14 Karat refers to the metal mix that is 58.3% gold, alloyed with durable metals like zinc, silver, and copper. This sturdy blend is completely resistant to corrosion, rust, and tarnish. Beautiful and durable, 14K solid gold is made for everyday wear and is the highest quality metal we offer.

14K solid gold is the most low-maintenance metal in our collection. To keep your piece gleaming, clean regularly with warm water, a gentle toothbrush, and a drop of dish soap. A jewelry polishing cloth works great for a quick shine between cleanings.

Keep your piece free from product buildup including lotions, perfumes, and hairspray. Even solid gold can cause a temporary dark ring on the skin when products and sweat get trapped between the links. Regular cleaning keeps this from happening.

14K or 18K Gold Vermeil Jewelry

Gold vermeil is a high-quality alternative to solid gold, made by applying a thick layer of 14K or 18K gold over a sterling silver base. To be considered true vermeil, the gold layer must be at least 2 microns thick, making it far more substantial than standard gold plating. Because the base metal is sterling silver, vermeil is a great option for those with metal sensitivities.

We recommend removing your gold vermeil jewelry before swimming, showering, working out, and applying skincare or beauty products. Prolonged exposure to sweat, moisture, and chemicals is the number one cause of premature wear on vermeil pieces.

Clean gently with warm water, a soft toothbrush, and dish soap. Pat dry thoroughly after any contact with moisture. Gold vermeil can occasionally cause a dark ring on the skin. This is not a sign of low quality. Product buildup, sweat, and pH levels are almost always the cause. Regular cleaning keeps this from happening.

Gold-filled Jewelry

Gold filled jewelry is composed of 5% solid gold mechanically bonded to a base metal (jewelers brass), giving it up to 100 times more gold than gold plated jewelry. Gold filled is water resistant and is a quality option that will not break the bank, with little to no care your gold filled jewelry will last 1 to 3 years.

Clean regularly with warm water, a gentle toothbrush, and dish soap. Keep your piece away from perfumes, lotions, hairspray, and makeup, as these can break down the gold layer over time. We recommend removing your gold filled jewelry before applying skincare or beauty products and soaking in pools or hot tubs.

Gold filled jewelry is hypoallergenic for most, however please be aware that the brass base metal may cause a reaction for those with a brass sensitivity.

925 Sterling silver Jewelry

Sterling silver is an excellent, high quality choice. The metal will not rust or perish, and if you look after your jewelry, it will look great forever. Sterling silver cleaner or a baking soda slurry can easily revert any oxidation if it occurs.

Sterling silver is prone to oxidation when exposed to chlorine, sulfur compounds, hot tub chemicals, cleaning chemicals, job-related chemicals, sulfur in natural hot springs or face wash and masks, humidity, and even your own pH levels.

If your piece oxidizes, a baking soda slurry, silver cleaner, or silver cleaning wipes will fix it up as good as new. Clean regularly with warm water, a gentle toothbrush, and dish soap to keep it at its best.

PERMANENT JEWELRY

Please keep in mind that permanent jewelry is not indestructible. Chains are dainty and fragile, so be mindful to avoid snagging on clothing, bags, or other objects.

Once your piece is welded, it is your responsibility to care for, clean, and have awareness of your jewelry. Avoiding these care instructions could result in a damaged or broken chain.

  • Permanent Jewelry: Average lifespan is 1 to 3 years. Because it is worn 24/7, exposure to sweat, soaps, and body chemistry slowly degrades the metal layers faster than occasional wear. Please note that everyone's pH and lifestlye is different

Factors That Shorten Its Life

  • Harsh chemicals: Chlorine, hairspray, perfumes, and lotions.
  • Moisture: Prolonged exposure to saltwater, hot tubs, and heavy sweat.

Our Repair Policy:

If your chain breaks, we are happy to fix and re-weld it free of charge within the first 120 days. You must have your chain in good condition for it to be re-welded. We do not offer replacements for any lost jewelry.

Please note: ETERNAL is not responsible for mishandled, damaged, broken, lost, or stolen chains and charms, and we are unable to offer replacements or credit for these situations.

How to Clean:

Warm water, a gentle toothbrush, and dish soap work perfectly for everyday cleaning. Jewelry polishing cloths also work great to get your piece polished up and back to its super shiny self!

You can clean your welded jewelry and charms the same way. Keep your piece clean and the buildup has nowhere to go!

What to Avoid:

Avoid direct contact of your jewelry with perfumes, makeup, hairspray, lotion, and other chemical products. Regular exposure to these can cause gold filled and sterling silver to tarnish over time.

Avoiding these instructions could result in gold filled or sterling silver jewelry tarnishing over time, or a damaged or broken chain.
